Introduction

Allow us to introduce the "Posada Clinic Aruba" and its operation. The Posada Clinic is the pioneer facility in Aruba offering treatment to tourists who need standard or Hi-flux hemodialysis, and for whom a vacation in Aruba otherwise would be impossible since our local hospital is equipped to treat mainly local patients.

The center for hemodialysis is situated in a beautiful residence with ocean-view at the L.G.Smith Boulevard. The clinic has a capacity of 8 stations equipped with modern Fresenius 20081 machines. Each station has its own TV/video and telephone. Single needle is available. In general we use bicarbonate, but of course acetate is also provided. We will maintain a flexible dialysis schedule in order to accommodate the wishes of the patient. The clinic serves beverages like juices, coffee and tea, as well as snacks and light meals, prepared by the exclusive restaurant "La Bouillabaisse". While the patient is dialyzing, accompanying relatives or friends may relax in our small restaurant or on a shaded terrace. We also allow a maximum of one person to stay with the patient in a comfortable chair during the treatment. We have a complete back-up system for supply of electricity.

Medical Treatment

As you can see the Posada Clinic has chosen for the most modern equipment and amenities. The staff consists of highly qualified, kind and hospitable nurses. They speak English, Spanish, Dutch, German and, of course, Papiamento. Under supervision of two medical specialists they will guarantee a safe and perfect dialysis. The medical director, Dr. Edgard Falconi, is a specialist in internal medicine with more than 12 years experience in hemodialysis. Dr. Paul Stevens, nephrologist and director of Diatel Amsterdam, is our medical adviser. He is also adviser to the Nierstichting Nederland (Kidney Foundation Netherlands) and to Diatel Curacao, with which we have a cooperative relationship. In view of these facts Posada Clinic Aruba takes pride in keeping abreast of all new developments to guarantee an up to-date hemodialysis program.

Reservations

In order to keep a schedule as efficient as possible for the dialysis treatments we would appreciate receiving reservations preferable 3 months in advance. The clinic has, on request, special forms for all the necessary information we need to know about the patient.
